Around the world!


UK Wild Otter Trust (WOT)

The UK Wild Otter Trust provide the means for anyone to help otters in the UK. Through donating, adopting and their Young Ambassador program, you can help Eurasian otters all over the UK and become a member of Team Lutra!


Cardiff University Otter Project

The Cardiff University Otter Project undertake fundamental research on Eurasian otters (L. lutra), from understanding their populations in England and Wales, toxicology, diet, communication, parasitology etc. You can get involved and help support their research by donating and volunteering with hands-on post-mortem analysis.



International Otter Survival Fund (IOSF)

The IOSF undertake incredible work to understand, protect and fight for the wild lives of all otters. Here, you can donate to their research, adopt an otter and help their rehabilitation work. There are also many ways you can help that don't involve money too! View the the toolkit here for a quick and easy guide on how to help otters.



Wild Otters

Wild Otters are a wildlife research and conservation non-profit based in Goa, India, dedicated to otter ecology, conservation biology and behaviour. Wild otters offer volunteerships, workshops, internships and online internships for the current circumstances. Check out their 'Otter Collective' initiative, on how to help otters through the use of art!



The River Otter Ecology Project

The River Otter Ecology Project are a research non-profit dedicated to understanding and conserving otters in the San Francisco Bay area. They undertake community-based research too, so you can volunteer and help river otters in the Bay. Their website is full of unique ideas on how to help otters, how to become an otter scientist yourself and educational resources on river otters!



Monterey Bay Aquarium

Monterey Bay Aquarium house a sea otter research and rehabilitation centre. They study both wild and learn from rehabilitated otters, contributing to understanding their behaviour, biology, physiology and population in Monterey Bay, California. There are many ways to help with their research and rehabilitation on their website, they even have a volunteer programme where you can gain valuable experience in otter care and research in sunny Monterey!
